SUPPORTING A GOOD CAUSE: JAN VERGÉS TOURNAMENT

Exactly one week ago together with Galera Group we were supporting a charity event, the tournament of Jan Vergés Blanch that was held in the school of Els Arcs.

Jan Vergés Blanch was born in 2004 with a congenital heart disease. Although his life was difficult and with many limitations, Jan always lived it with intensity, joy and, above all, normally. 

On September 14, 2016, Jan passed away suddenly due to a heart attack, leaving an immense void to all who loved him: family, friends, school, the football team where he played as a goalkeeper…

Jan Vergés Blanch Tournament was born with the objective of remembering Jan and dedicating this family, sports and festive day ti him, as well as contributing in solidarity to the collection of funds promoted annually by the La Marató TV3 Foundation. 

Big thanks to Galera group and La Marató TV3. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a beautiful initiative. 

It just so happens that we have met a fantastic wine producer family from Baix Empordà with whom we have been sharing ideas, specifically with the daughter Ana, an incredibly passionate person (and so young!). The winery Mas Geli in Pals has been doing organic production since day one, using mostly autochthonous wine grapes from the area and the flavor profile they are looking for are pleasant, fresh and balanced characteristics, just as we try to source and roast our coffees to the most balanced and pleasant flavor profile. We’ll tell you a secret, we are working with Ana and Mas Geli for some future collaborations and we are very excited, so stay tuned for our updates!

In the mean time, you should just go visit the winery yourself and do a fantastic wine and local product tasting right in their vineyards!
