Tata Nahual is produced in the coffee growing region of Acatenango by a family-owned green coffee exporter who has over 25 years of experience working in coffee production. Their facilities are located in the coffee- growing region of Fraijanes Plateau, this is where they have their headquarters and their dry mill, for the preparation of their coffees and microlots. Its mission is to receive the highest quality Guatemalan coffee from the best producers, in order to be the first option for its customers. Finca Idealista has spent years developing the best way to conduct a carbonic maceration nanolot of its Pacas and Caturra varieties (not to mention getting apparatuses such as air traps and pH meters and liquids through customs). This lot is the result of a journey of trial and error, and collaboration with producers in other countries who shared their experiences and best practices for achieving mind boggling cupping results. Now they have it down to a science but are open to further experimentation down the road. This coffee doesn’t taste like coffee.

Muranga County has cool temperatures and fertile central highlands. The combination of fertile volcanic soil, seasonal rainfall and high altitude provide the ideal climate for coffees characterised by high acidity, full body and ripe fruit flavours. Due to the cool conditions, the cherries in Murang’a develop slowly and the beans reach a large size. Kanjathi wetmill (or factory) was established in 1971under Kangiri Farmers’ Co-operative Society and now works with 1,100 registered members, local smallholder farmers who cultivate typical Kenyan varieties (SLs, Batian and Ruiru11). These beans are wet processed and then delivered at Othaya dry mill where it is rested in parchment for 3 weeks before being hulled.
